Colour Conscious It’s cool and neutral throughout, thanks to the consistency of materials. From the tub and shower surrounds to the counter and backsplash, travertine is the dominant material used in both rooms, while floors are tiled in dark porcelain. Furnish It A mirror that continues above and below the vanity and basin creates depth in the room. Recessing the medicine cabinet takes advantage of room between the studs in the wall, gaining valuable storage space. Spa Zone Much of the 1,500-plus-square-foot condo is open concept (Patton wanted to take advantage of views over the port of Vancouver), and the bathroom can be, too. But for more private, Zen-like moments in the soaker tub, frosted sliding glass doors on industrial rails enclose the space. Lit from underneath, the frosted glass becomes a mood-setting light source. Hidden asset There are both practical and beautiful reasons for the travertine bath surround. The beautiful structure houses the workings of the jetted bath.
